I’ve got this 82 Seca 750 gray and don’t really care for the black on the cast wheels. Anyone paint theirs a different color and have pictures?

I didn't change the color but if you want to take a chance and try another color out here is a easy way.

What I did was prep the old black first. I then polished the aluminum and final washed the wheels. Then very carefully with your finger wipe grease on every part you do not want paint. Now just spray away. When dry wipe off the grease. Hope this helps. Good luck!

A gray bike I think i would bead blast the wheels and then just seal them with some polish for a cast finish look. Just a thought.

Since the Seca is gray I was just looking for a contrasting color that wouldn’t be too garish. I don’t want to be too loud for the gray, just subtle.

Your gray idea I’m going to look at. I’d glass bead them at home and clear urethane and possibly polish the lip.

Mines the red GS with gold Center wheels. I’ll be doing the Seca in the next couple of weeks.

S10 gto, when I do wheels, rotors, finned valve covers things like that I don’t mask or grease anything,I use an old T-shirt wrapped around my finger dip in enamel reducer and wipe off the area I don’t want painted right away. That’s what I did on the gold wheels and came out great. Naturally that only works if you have a defined edge.

Mine are powder coated which I like but paint is better as it is easy to touch up. They were powder coated by the PO. 1991 Yamaha XJ 900f .jpg

E6B100BD-342B-491B-8A14-72BF8FF7A265.jpeg I just came in from trying bright flat silver and I’m not feeling it. Gonna go to Ace hardware tomorrow to look around at different colors.Thinking a bright blue metallic like on a 69 Camaro. The Seca is gunmetal gray and I don’t want it so dark it looks like a dungeon but not so bright it looks like Huggy bear with diamond sunglasses and purple and green outfit heading downtown to check on the girls:p

Other than a compression check which is all good this is the start of my cosmetic rehab.I took the front wheel off and removed the rotors. Painted the centers of the rotors and cleaned the heck out of the wheel. OG black is so good I left it. Bleeding the anti dive and brakes next. I put new EBC pads in that came with it. Then onto engine area. Basically just going to clean and detail what’s already there.
