    Hey,

Just noticed something when i received a new radiator cap for my bike.

On all websites I found, it says that part 1AE-12462-00-00 is replaced with new part number 4FL-12462-00.

Strange thing though is that the original should have a 0.9 pressure rating, the new part however is a 1.1.
So it's not the same part. Am I missing something?

Not sure I want to put this part on my bike, the different pressure release numbers would put more strain on my cooling system.

I'm assuming that the units are given in bar.
    0.9 bar is 13 psi.
    1.1 bar is 16 psi.

Your system can easily handle 16 psi (barring any damaged parts), and the extra pressure will increase the boiling point of the coolant.
    That is a good thing:

Great. Still confusing that a new part number would basically be a different part.

cost of keeping 2 different but similar parts in production and stock.
Yamaha likely determined that it would be with in safe spec for your bike
