Parts cross-reference

    As some parts for the 750 maxim-X are almost impossible to find , what bike is used for a cross reference which has similar parts ?
    eg.( ignition switch)

    Forgot year of bike. It's a 1986

    For 1986 the Yamaha web site only shows the X's as 700 - no 750's
    The part number is listed as:

    42X-82501-50-00 MAIN SWITCH STEERING LOCK

    Looks like it is common with
    84, 85, 86, 87 - 700 Maxims and Viragos
    88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97 - 750 Viragos

    I think that you'll find almost everything for the 750-X (besides major engine components, a few carb jets and needles, and I think the side covers) are basically completely interchangable with their baby cousins the XJ700-X models.............
