is the front fork mounted master cylinder on a xj750 connected to that wierd headlight mount (headlight stay) on the 81 xj750 seca. by connected i mean, if i remove the headlight stay will the master cylinder have nothing to attach to?

the reason im asking is because i really really want to remove the headlight stay as well as the headlight itself so i can mount a round headlight instead, and i just wanted to know if i have to mess with the master cylinder.

    thanks

It shouldn't be too hard to Fabricate a new bracket to mount-up the Master.

I'd dump the original M/C if I were converting, it is a royal pain to work with and difficult to access. If you must have a remote unit, I'd look up a swap from some other type of bike. Now if I just had a decent suggestion...
(I'm still running stock even though I dislike the arrangement)
