Replace your fuse box. No, really...

Just wanted to echo everybody's thoughts on how poorly the fuse boxes age on these bikes. I was trying to troubleshoot a slight current draw when the bike is off, and was pulling fuses while I was checking the amperage off the battery.

Well, when I put one of the fuses back in, I turned the key to 'on' and noticed that my neutral indicator light wasn't on. Hmm, that seems suspicious... So I looked at the fuse box again and it looked like one of the tabs was a little more spaced out than it should be. So, I *gently* pushed the tab in...SNAP! It totally broke off. I suspect that the metal was very corroded and weak. Just drives home everyone on here saying how crappy the stock fusebox is compared to more modern technology. If I had been riding, it could have easily crapped out and left me stranded or in the dark.

Lucky for me I had ordered a fuse box from chacal/Len earlier so I expect it in a few days. I expect to see a dramatic improvement in the electrical system after replacing it.

Any good suggestions on places to start as far as the current draw?

Until the fusebox comes in, you could always do what my PO did, solder the fuse in! 8O
