Ok... Interesting question here... Rebuilding a master cylinder on a 82 xj650rj seca. I can not get the snap ring out... It is recessed, and several types of snap ring pliers I have won't get it out. They are too short to get into the recess, or if I extend the tips out that far, they aren't strong enough to get the ring out.... Anyone else do this lately? What snap ring pliers did you use? HELP!!!

I used a pair of long-nosed snap ring pliers, not the kind with removable tips.

We also have the deep-reach circlip pliers, not motion pro brand but just as good.

I ended up getting an aftermarket MC... I'll rebuild the original at some point. That ring is stuck unbelievably good

Just pulled a MC from a XJ700 apart. I used the "cheapy" ones with the interchangable tips from Harbor Freight. Worked great for me, but i'm assuming that the recess that your clip is hiding in, is much deeper.

If you're careful, you can get them out with a good set of picks/small flathead screwdriver. But that doesnt really help for the install.
