Standard handlebars xj900f

Hey , I'm soon to start my xj900f build and I want to put standard bars on her (renthals ect)

Does anybody know what top yoke will fit straight on to allow this?

It's a 1993 xj900f

There was a Naked version, I believe used conventional bars - the XJ900N, sold widely in Germany and other places.

There's also been mention of another model with a suitable top yoke, but I unrecall what it was. They are out there though, and somebody will pipe up.
There's a useful source of German spares on Facebook - I've dealt with him and had no complaints. He specialises in XJs.
This is a useful FB group for XJ9 owners, owned by the spares guy. His shop is called Bike Tielle or something similar, and he will pop up sooner or later, or just scan down the listings.

I've just come across this conversion, which means you can keep your standard top yoke.

Take a pair of 2" risers... (amazon link)

Use the original mounting bolts and drill the risers deep enough to nestle the head of the bolt in there...

Fit them with a pair of rubber washers on top of the serrated portion on the top yoke...

I got tired of the original, adjustable handlebars on my 83 900 Seca. They were either way forward at supermoto spread or at an angle that was hard on my wrists. I'd seen where people had adapted regular handlebars before for these bikes, and came my own ideas how to manage it. Here's what I came up with…

I bought these aluminum risers from Amazon, they didn't come with the right size holes but they were for 7/8" handlebars, and the height I was looking for. I had a friend bore them out and countersink them to fit the stock bolts. I could have done it but he works at a metal shop.

The handlebars I bought at a local Cycle Gear store.

I got a few rubber grommets from the hardware store, to go under the risers, and just tightened the risers and grommets down over the serrated mounting points. And it works!

The bars I bought didn't give me as much of a wrist straightening as I'd hoped, but the main thing was, it worked. They are a bit wider, which I like. And the bars fit right over the center plastic trim piece as well. I was expecting to have to remove that in order to do this swap, so that was a nice surprise. Everything went back fine, the cables were long enough.

All in all, it works great and I think it looks great too. I just wanted to share that there are easily done options if you don't like the stock setup.

Update: I went for about a 20 mile ride yesterday. Some long straights, then some nice sweeping high speed curves. The new bars worked GREAT. I used to have issues with my hands and my right elbow going numb, just riding across town. No problems with the new bar. Though the final angle is the same, the extra width puts me right into a sweet spot, for me. Yay! I'm back!
