Suggestions for new tires on a 1981 650 Maxim

Hi All,

I'm looking for some new tires for my 1981 650 maxim. Any know good suggestions? I'm looking for something a little more sporty but in a cruiser mindframe! LOL..

Right now it has a Dunlop in the front and a badly warn out Yokohama in the back. Nasty looking profile too. ;-)

Dunlp carries a nice set.

Front: GT501 - 100/90/19
Rear: GT501 - 130/90/B16

DanP, tires are a personal preference sorta like politics and religion. This topic has been gone over quite a few times in the past. This month's "Cycle" has some pretty darn good deals in the Tire Ad Pages.

 

I'm a big fan of Avon tires myself - really like the RoadRunner's on my Maxim

 

I've run Dunlop K491 Elite II's for years (get 20K miles out of the rear regularly, 40K on the front). Just slung a Gt501 on the FZR, I'll get back to you on that one in a season or two.

GT501s are my choice.
