    Today I was cleaning my carbs and I didn't like the way the Lemmon juice and white vinagar turned some of the brass parts black. I picked up some Tarn-X at Walgreens and I tryed it on my brass jets. I have to say in seconds it ate all the black off. I just brushed them up and they look like brand new. Just trying different options here to get away from carb dip. That stuff is so caustic it is eating pin holes through the can its in. I hate to even open the lid the fumes get in the house.

    Hey, MN! Just found this very old thread while investigating some carb cleaning alternatives. I picked up a bottle of Tarn-X today but noticed that it specifically says not to use it on brass.

    Are you still using it? Any negative effects that you can see?
