my current ride is an 82 xj750 maxim. when I bought the bike it had no front turn signals, because the previous owner apparently removed an after market interstate faring the guy before him put on. Well after using hand signals for the past year and a half, I finally got around to picking up a set of rear veiw mirrors with built in blinkers only to find that all the wiring has been cut and spliced so many times that it's a tangled up birds nest.
Is there an easy way to test what wires go where, or am I better off bypassing the original wires, and tying in directly to the flasher relay. If so how would I go about doing that.

the mirrors have leds, but the rear lights have already been upgraded to leds so it shouldn't be to much trouble.
