Sorry if I missed it, but I didn't see what bike you have.

Regardless, though, if you're using a 2-pin electronic (i.e. suitable for LED's) flasher, the load side should be connected to the brown/white wire and the line side should be connected to the brown wire. Y/G left unconnected - i.e. no auto-cancel.

If you use a non-LED flasher in this arrangement, you'll get lights but no flash. If you hook up an LED flasher backwards you'll either get no lights, or, more likely, lights but no flash.

Any three-pin flasher not specifically made for XJ's is not going to work, or, at least, it's not going to work when hooked up the three pins that our wiring harnesses provide.

You mention three flashers you've tried. The factory one will not flash with bulbs that draw much less current than 1156's, and it certainly won't flash with LEDs. The three pin, as I mentioned, is dead out, unless you want to add some wiring. The other two pin... is it rated for LED's? Is it an electronic flasher or a bimetallic one? I can definitely recommend the 2-pin from SuperbrightLEDs.com if you are not sure you have a suitable flasher.

I just replace turn signals with originals. It's easier that way ad they work just fine. No muss, no fuss.......
