Hey guys only just noticed this thread, haven't read through all 6 pages so maybe wrong, but I think I'm the only member from Cardiff. Got given an '81 or 82 XJ550 Maxim, US import. it's in a pretty sorry state at present. Started stripping but all works have stopped due to lacking funds (Xmas!) and needing a breaker bar for some of the more stubborn bolts. Will be cracking on big time after xmas though, want it on the road by spring.

I'm in Milton Keynes. I have a UK XJ650, with a UK 750 engine installed. Hard panniers make it into a more practical machine. It's green, because I like green : ]

Hi everyone. I've just got an XJ750 Seca off ebay. Its been played about with - some non standard parts and no bodywork - but it's a runner with a long MOT. I'm going to turn it into a cafe racer like Bensalf. I've seen photos of some nice ones elsewhere. It's a long term project, so no immediate pics!

Just started reading this updated / revisited thread, based in Kent, and member on site for a few years.

I bought 2 xj 750 Seca on flea bay one back up and running for a number of years now. The other in boxes and crates in garage.

Good fun and good for a trip down to the coast in summer..

    Yep, in Brighton.
The bike is in bits under the road, but soon my friends, as the first tendrils of spring conjure the flower from the bud, so too will my XJ rise phoenix-like from its subterranean tomb, stripped, rebuilt and modified into a brutal bratlike god of the highway.

Hallo, I like others have just come across this thread.

I am located in Worcestershire and ride a 1985 Maxim X 700cc American import.
I have owned 2 XJ750 Seca's and an XJ750 Midnight Maxim all about 1983 to 1985. Loads of other bike as well.
Good to see there are some British XJ owners.

Would be nice to get together when weather picks up.

    Mike.

Hi Just come across this thread, I'm in Essex, though not an Essex boy I do have the v rare XJ650 Turbo UK model, as featured in 'RIDE' magazine a (good) few years ago, when I say 'have' I mean in bits awaiting refurbish/build, and having now built a new shed I am getting the bits together to put it back on the road! Used to commute into London on it everyday (83 mile round trip) very reliable.

Just picked up this thread, have 1981 XJ550 (Mars bar colour) trying to get it running and have carbs in bits at moment, lots to do to it, this forum has been great help for technical help, home is Pitlochry, Highlands of Scotland.
