    Recently there was a thread where someone had fitted a plastic grill (with yamaha logo) under their headlight, and they mentioned the model it was sourced from.... Now I can't find the post.

    Any ideas?

    Both my 550 seca & 650 maxim came stock with a chome plastic yamaha emblem/covers spanning across the forks just below the headlight.

    Almost every Yammie of that era had one in some shape or fashion. The 650 Seca had a large, grille-esque one; I don't remember if it says "Yamaha" on it or not and I'm too lazy to go look. The 550 Secas came with one in chrome or black with chrome lettering depending on year but it wasn't as big.
