Value of used XJ650 motor

    What is a '82 maxim 650 motor/trans worth in "good" shape assuming good compression?

    This is a YICS motor with approx 22K miles on it, runs but carbs are clogged. I have my own set of carbs. I would just be buying the engine.

    I'm in Oregon, if region matters. Going to look at a motor this week and need some ideas of what to offer.

    Assuming good compression you should expect to drop $200~300 depending upon condition. Does it include the starter? Carbs? If so, lean higher. If there is anything wrong with the compression, I wouldn't offer more than $100 for the parts.
