    Hello guys!!
I picked up an xj 750 seca a while ago. Got it for about 50$, think that was a quite good price....
It's been sitting out in a yard for 10-15 years so now i'm trying to fix it up, i've got it running before i tare it apart for painting and change some bearings and brakes etc. Now i've was checking the valve clearance before mounting the engine again and it's a little too tight on one intake valve 0,09 mm (about 0,0035") does it matter?? Excuse me for my bad english.....

Yes it matters. Tight valves only get tighter, then working valves become burnt valves. We (the majority of us) do everything in Metric (it is a metric machine after all), so there's no need to convert to SAE measures.

Ok, that's what i thought, do you know if there's any car that uses schims in the same diameter, it's not too easy finding parts to these bikes here in sweden:-(
Oh, i thought you never used metric over there....:$

29mm shims are a common diameter on Yamaha, Kawasaki, and BMW motorcycles. You should have no trouble finding them. Just make sure that they are not 29.5mm (common on Suzuki engines). The Ford Tarus SHO (pre 1995) engines also use 29mm valve shims, but they come in 0.025mm increments instead of 0.05mm increments. I think some years of Ford Escort also use 29mm shims (Yamaha did a few engines for Ford).
