Xj550 maxim, I can find this torque in my clymer manual. They are a shoulder bolt so I knot the torque is low.

All 6mmx1mm bolts are nominal torqued to 7lb/ft, in structural areas, 8 lb/ft
All 8 mmx1.25 mm bolts are 18-20 ft lb, structural areas 20-22 lb/ft
    All 10mmx1.5 mm bolts are 26-28ft/lbs, structural 28-30 lb/ft
    All 10mmx1.25mm bolts are 27-29ft/lbs, structural30- 32lb/ft
    Generally torqued only...... Exceptions apply
Fork triple clamps, 8mmx1.25 16-18ft/lb, no more! Yet structural.... Consult a Manual!

I was wondering if you'd comment Matti. It's a play on vernier caliper, but yes, avoid the venereal clap

I don't see how this is a constructive comment (not that my last comment was either).
Overtightening of the valve cover bolts on YICS engines has been known to crack the head.
it's a common enough problem that we try to help people avoid that.
