This bike was never designed to be ridden in rain.

All those hours of polishing and primping in the early days of ownership have ended up leaving me with pretty much the same, cosmetically at least, bike I started with.

Its kinda funny really.

At any rate.

Jumped on the bike, switched it on, pressed the starter button. Nada.

I kinda had a Twilight zone moment and continued, like an idiot, to turn it off and on again and press the button with the same result.

I have 2 bikes so I got on that one and it started and I was off to work.

Got home checked the battery voltage, perfect, checked the fuses, perfect, pulled the switch of the handlebars and it had corrosion and a weird little lump of carbon.
So brass brush and cleaned it up and that's that, all back to life.

I think I need a compressor in the driveway to dry out the bike every time it rains.

 

Next time it will be fine. It was just reminding you of that one last detail you had not yet cared for. The "turn it off and back on"again thing? I bet that comes from the universal fix when our electronic devices do not work and require a reset. Now we do it with everything, just in case.

Didn't help that I had the music going in my helmet already, either. Very confusing.

 

A leaf blower makes a good bike dryer.......
