what brake shoes do you recomend

    I personally use EBC Kevlar. Any brand of Kevlar pads or shoes will last forever.

    I use EBC "standard" OEM replacements and they work great.

    DON'T use semi-metallic. The "drum" surface isn't that thick. Kevlar's fine too.

    I like ebc's pads on my maxim enough to get ebc's front a d rear for my Seca.

    I have EBC's OE replacement rear shoes on both my 550s; and EBC pads (whatever "matches" their rotor) on the front of the '83 with an EBC floating rotor.

    I used Yamaha pads with the (drilled) Yamaha rotor on the '81.

    Both bikes have fully rebuilt hydraulic systems and stainless lines.

    The EBC brake still outperforms the improved stock brake; but I can't say how much is pads and how much is the hi-po modern rotor (or the combination of both.)

    Ask Fitz about "Girling" the rear drums to get proper contact and allow drums to conform. I thought that was neat. Gonna do it next time a change my drums.

    The term is "centralising" or in Amurrican, "centralizing."

    The (rear) brake on the Norton was made by Girling. Not a bad application though, "to Girling" your brake...
