What to do AFTER polishing?

    OK, so I've read countless threads on how to polish the aluminum to make it look new... But I haven't seen much on ways to help it stay that way. Should I clearcoat? with what? I'm looking for durable + low maintenance? any help appreciated. thanks, jon

    STOP. don't clear coat, just a light polish with Mothers, or similar will keep it looking good for years, if you coat it, it will look c*** in one.

    Yes stay away from clear coat. Top your polishing off with mothers or any aluminum polish. Eagle one nano polish works good for me.

    Lower 48 in general. Otherwise Central Mitten.
    Once you finish polishing everything. Use a good finishing compound that leaves a protective ooating like blue magic.

    yup! say no to the clear!! once you are back to happy aluminum, its easy to keep it looking that way, unless you're on a coast where the salty water air makes that hard. in that case i dont know what to reccomend, and you might want to wait until theres someone who lives in a similar climate who can chime in
