Where does this bolt go?

    It's on an 88 fzr 1000. Where does this bolt go into? When removed, it is a bit wet, but not from oil or fuel. And it smells a bit funny. Same small I had when I removed the valve cover on my Buell many years ago.

    looks like the motor ground bolt?
    take a straw/coffee stirer and stick it down the hole and see if it goes into the crank case or bottoms out.
    the tube near it is the crank case vent and will smell like your buell as well

    I guess that's where it goes. I'd say the bolt is about 5 inches long.
    And yes, air vent tube is the same. When removed, some drops were in the hose.
    Should I just let it air out or is there a drain?
