So I have been thinking on color choices, modifications, ECT. I feel like I want to match my helmet and do custom tin bags for my '81 XJ650. Thoughts? I work at a custom bike shop so I'm used to making my own tins and exhaust and such. I'm just getting tired of riding with a backpack and REALLY tired of stock seat. Ideas are greatly appreciated. And I am thinking over the winter, pulling the engine, and powder coating the whole thing, as well as a full rebuild.

I think that matching your helmet is a fine idea, however...what happens when your helmet passes its expiration date? Will you still be happy with the color scheme then?

Some guys rip on ya if your leathers don't match.
To the question though, yes paint to match is way cool IMO. Shows commitment, when the helmet expires, buy another and paint to match. I may have one painted to match when I get to that point in the build.
    Cheers, 50gary
