As the winter is approaching I’m beginning to think about my winter ride. I get these phases every winter for the past 3 years . I keep telling my wife that I ‘need’ a snowmobile but for some reason it’s not in the budget 8O . Hmmm maybe I need to do the budget myself?

Just wondering if you XJ owners ride snowmobiles? If so, is Yamaha or something else?

I did before I moved down here. I had a Honda 900 custom for the summer and a Ski-doo 440 for the winters.

I just got my new winter ride, a 91 chevy Blazer 4x4, I used to have a 78 Yamaha Enticer 340 when I was a kid, but we rarely had enough snow to ride it much, but when we did we had a ball

Don't worry, I have about 3 more years then it is back to the pure white again. I am enjoying my 70 degree rides right now. I can do without the 100 degree rides though. Even on the bike, it is still impossible to breath.

Yep, in those temps it does get a bit hot inside the helmet and under the leather.

Well, I just got an ‘approval’ to get a used snowmobile. I’ll post pics once I find my winter ride 8). My snowmobile buddies love winters so hopefully that will rub off on me.

I love 4x4's when there is lots of snow out. Just drop in 4 wheel drive and go!

We use to use the 4wheeler on a frozen lake after we plowed it, I will say that is the best time you can possibly have freezing to death. It wasn't that great in the woods though. My ski-doo was the best all around winter vehicle for me. I could take it for miles fully pack with supplies for a hunting trip, long stress relieving rides or jump it across the paved roads when I got bored.
