Just got my idle mixture screw in the mail... Now I just have to drill out the old one...

Anyone have any experience with the Irwin left handed drill bits? Are they the least bit durable? Really don't want to break that thing off in there...

Well, it didn't go so well. I broke that thing off in there...

Even better is the local machine shops tell me that they have no way of getting it out now that there is a bit in there. Is the bit really that hard? Its not the easy out set, its just a spiral flute extractor...

I'm going to leave it for now, it's in the no 4 carb which runs a bit rich...

When I do get around to doing it, assuming I can't find anyone to drill it out, I was going to JB Weld a small allen wrench to it and try to back it out. Any thoughts on that?

I'm guessing the bit broke off flush with the screw, right? If there was any part of the bit left that you could grab onto, I'd try a small hemostat type pliers to lock on & unscrew. As the title of this post says-I am wishing you luck. P.S. remember its a left-hander you got in there.
