I just finished rebuilding the carburetors on my xj750 MK midnight Maxim I found the book of the Church of clean and took it a step brother I polished vacuum Pistons and the vacuum piston boers and the throttle bores and put it back together painted the carburetors back black original color went to start it as just cranking then I remember I had to shifter cover off and the oil pump cover offI removed the magnetic pick up coils by the time I went to put it all back together I developed a hernia and I could not bend over far enough to see I was feeling with my fingers and I thought I had to pick up coil wire Away song the shifter cover so I checked that and sure enough I smashed the crap out of two two wires now I don't know if I fried the coils or the TCI unit haven't checked them yet don't know weather is best to try to repair the wires or just buy another pick-up coil assembly with a new wire harness looks like a job to replace the wiring harness looks like it runs out of the engine do you have to unbolt the engine Jack the engine up to get the wiring harness off to replace it that would probably be the best and fastest way this replace the whole darn thing any ideas appreciate the help

My advice is to fix the hernia first.

Written from the armchair where I am recovering from hernia surgery.

no need to remove motor there are metal clips that bend around the harness you may have to remove the rear fender assembly they run up to the tci

I will check the routing in am
