wtb: Yamaha venture from the early 80's

    ive been looking for an early 80s yamaha venture, looks unimportant as long as it runs and rides. if anyone finds one in the thats within about 300 miles of the fort wayne area, please let me know.

    umm specs on a yamaha venture? just incase some people will say yamaha 750, when it could be an xj, seca, or Virago?

    Specs on a Venture=specs on any Great Lakes Freighter or the Queen Mary.

    A Venture is a two-wheeled car, Schooter, nobody cares how big the motor is.

    that is a nice bike, yamaha's goldwing? but a kid my age would look goofy on it, lol

    Yup - Yamaha's answer to the Goldwing, but with better performance at the time (uses the V-max motor), and WAYYYYY better handling.

    nobody dug one up yet, my search radious is ever widening, if you see one for under $2000, let me know(any bike from 83-93)

    They turn up from time to time. $2000 is the low end, below that they're usually pretty beat up.

    I'd suggest you look for 86-93. The early motors had a notoriously weak 2nd gear that was fixed part way through 85.

    Plastics are very expensive. Many of the mechanicals are the same as the later V-Max and Ventures so they're easier/cheaper to get, even new.
