xj 550 seca speedo problems

    hi can anyone help my mileage counter and trip counter have packed in as i am in the uk it is expensive to get repaired or replaced can anyone tell me will the maxim internals fit the seca i know the face plate is different but are the internal bits the same ,

    the 550 maxim may not be accurate in the Seca different size tires up front. I reading a conversation on FB the other day and he was saying it was off about 10% when he did the change .
    was someone from UK.

    And that is something that would be have to be ajusted for by having the speedometer magnetically calibrated (or with numbered stickers on the glass).

    I thought they were both 3.25-19 ?

    30H19-4 pr for seca = 90/90-19

    3.25 is 110/90-19 for maxim

    most run the maxim spec because finding a good price on seca tires is difficult

    I found 100/90-19 is a good substitute for a 3.25-19

    110/90-19 would be closer to a 3.50 which is too big.

    I didn’t know the 550 Seca specified something skinnier, makes sense as the FJ600 is 90/90-18 on the front.

    seca rim is not as wide as maxim rim according to spec but you are correct 1 size up is ok 2 sizes up is not
