XJ 650 Motor Seized Up

    I have an 83 XJ650 & I thi k the motor is Seized up, the starter works but the engine isn't turning over, it won't budge when I put it in gear. It sat for a few months, but it used to crank right over. How do I get it unstuck?

    Are you sure it isn't just hydrolocked from leaky carbs? Basically your cylinder fills with gas which can't compress so the motor can't spin.

    Pull your spark plugs and see if it rotates. If gas comes out, figure your oil is full of gas also.

    Sitting for a few months is a short time frame to seize due to rust. Clutch plates sometimes like to stick though. Are you sure it's in neutral?
