    trying to install sportster mufflers onxj 750 seca won't to get rid of collecter need help :( :(

    Why get rid of the collector? The Sportster mufflers will mount right onto the collector on both sides.
    If you do remove the collector, your going to need to fabricate some kind of 2-nto-1 collector on each side to mount the mufflers to. Some mufflers chops can do it for you if given the proper demensions and bends you need.

    'D' is right, you need the collector box; otherwise you'll need a whole 4-2 system or to fab up some way to "collect" the 4 head pipes.

    Additionally, if you get rid of the collector box, it will require more in the way of carb tuning than just swapping mufflers would.
