XJ750R Master Cylinder Internals

Can somebody look at the orientation of the piston/spring/seals on this XJ750R master cylinder and either tell me what is wrong or confirm that everything is in the correct order?

 

Update: after trying what seems like 20 different things to get these brakes working, I finally got a functioning system.

Turns out it was the seals, but not the orientation. The orientation shown above is correct.

I have a set of new seals and a set of seals that I took out. Unfortunately after all the different iterations over the past few weeks, I can’t say for sure which seals are working and which caused me lots of frustration.

I think that the original seals are the ones that are working. The other cup seal and piston seal seem too big. The big piston seal impeded motion of the piston and the big cup seal would not allow fluid to flow into the negative pressure zone to allow fluid flow from the reservoir.

That’s my initial thoughts after fighting this for weeks and coming within an inch of lighting this thing on fire.

Ah, another great MC rebuild. Working on my '83 750 Seca with fairing. Echo the ugly job of digging out the MC from behind the headlight (have to remove the fairing)! I have a question but need a couple more posts before I can send a picture.
